Steampunk Bubble Boy by Andrew JohnCraven

Steampunk Bubble Boy by Andrew JohnCraven

The day has FINALLY arrived! Today we are picking up our bees. Today we become bee mamas. Today I am freaking out a bit. When it was months away Rachael and I decided that we would buy the bee hat, veil and gloves. We didn’t need the full bee suit. We were not going to act like those dorky newbies that go out and buy all the gear possible and look like fools handling our bees. We told ourselves that a thick coat and jeans would be just fine. We’re cool, we got this. Now that the day has arrived I am thinking I have always pulled off dorky just fine. It suits me perfectly. In fact I am thinking of investing in one of those inflatable bubble outfits with the arms that come out the front. Bees try to sting you and they bounce right off. Ya…that seems like the sensible thing to wear. I will be Bubble Bee Girl. No reason to take risks, right? Of course with my luck a bee would get in somehow, and there I would be, screaming running around the yard in my awesome bubble outfit, eventually loosing my balance, and start rolling around the field with my bubble suit arms flopping all over the place in a strange clapping motion. I would basically be applauding my own idiotic behavior. The location of the bee box is on a slight hill, so I would end up rolling across the entire yard right up to the back porch where the hubbies will be be watching the whole scene. Unfortunately there will be no look of surprise on their faces. Nope…I think the word I am looking for is expectant. Okay… I will take a breath and relax. But just in case I am going to see if those bubble outfits are on Amazon Prime.
